Bringing smart agriculture to the fields
SATECON stands for Smart, innovative and sustainable agriculture. It is a 36-month cross-border project helping small and medium producers in Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Montenegro adopt market-proven smart farming technologies.
Smart agriculture is still underused across the region
A common characteristic among farmers is a focus on traditional and often economically less viable methods, resulting in slow adoption of new crops and technologies. The region also lacks clearly defined goals and the infrastructure needed to disseminate knowledge and build trust in smart agriculture.
To make national production competitive in all three countries, the focus must shift to quality, added value and productivity, achievable through the solutions smart agriculture offers.
Interdisciplinary by design
SATECON pairs experts in IT and modern technologies with agronomists to select specific, market-proven technological elements and integrate them into functional systems, ready for demonstration among producers in a climatologically and morphologically diverse area.
Choose proven sensors, drones and software for each sector.
Combine them into functional technological packages.
